SEER for Software from Galorath: Setting the Standard for 20 Years
- April 28, 2008 - El Segundo, Calif.-April 28, 2008-The year 1988 is recent history but in software terms it is akin to the early Industrial Revolution-a time when Commodore 64 software sales were still in the tens of millions of dollars, Americans spent over $2.2 billion on MS-DOS-based applications and Lotus 1-2-3 had a 68 percent market share. Also during that year, but with much less public fanfare, Galorath Incorporated launched its SEER-SEM (Software Estimation Model) and found early adapters in the United States Air Force, the National Security Agency, GTE, and Lockheed. But while Commodore, MS-DOS and Lotus have all either declined or disappeared, SEER-SEM (now called SEER for Software) has, not only remained robust with thousands of additional users, but over 20 years has retained each one of its original customers.
