Cost Estimating Throughout the World
I am constantly struck that cost estimating (some call it cost estimation) is such a problem throughout the world.
When I was in the United Kingdom (UK) last week, in addition to many British people, I saw people from France, Germany, Poland, The Netherlands, SPain and other Spanish speaking countries,  Belguim, Norway, not to mention others I know are very interested in Korea, Japan, Australia, China, and other countries.
The story is always similar. We need to understand costs so we can reduce them.. And make sound business decisions with cost and schedule implications understood. We need to avoid surprises. And estimate hardware, software, Information Technology (IT) and manufacturing. And we need to understand the cost of custom chips, sensors, and a myriad of other technologies.
That is why we developed SEER for Software, SEER for Hardware, Electronics and Systems;Â SEER for IT, and SEER for Manufacturing (Formally Design For Manufacturability.)
SEER works worldwide. Its parameter set includes experience, technology, physical and physiological distances and estimation of cost, effort, schedule, risk and reliability.
