SEER for Manufacturing Gets New Processes

Congratulations to the Galorath development team for the latest release of SEER for Manufacturing (SEER-MFG, formerly SEER-DFM).  SEER for manufacturing does root level parametric estimates of parts, processes, and assembly.  These allow the most cost effective designs and processes to be used, reducing product cost and improving time to market. They have added numerous additional manufacturing processes as well as major enhancements in other areas such as learning curve.  And thanks to customers who offered insight on processes and needs.

New Finish and Heat Treat Operations & Modifications

-          Shot Peening

-          Abrasive Blasting

New Mechanical Assembly Operations & Modifications

-          Welding

-          Adhesive Bonding – now enter area to bond

Purchased Part Modifications – separated from material costs on charts and reports

Project Parameter Updates

-          Stepped Learning – compute T1 based on slopes entered, define default slopes and learning rates

-          Currency and Exchange Rate – exchange rates and currencies are stored in a new configurable text file

-          Fabrication – turn the model from a sheet based to a part based model

New Mark Part & Package Part Parameters – modify rates directly

Initial Tool Fabrication & Design – enter up to 25 tools per work element, also add your own custom tools

Material.INI file Updates – new tables added to support new processes

MFGData.INI File – new configurable text file used to store process and model specific data

Servermode Command Updates – new servermode commands and modifications
